L\u2019hymne est centr\u00e9e sur le r\u00f4le de la cr\u00e9ation dans la glorification de Marie, th\u00e8me qui ouvre et ferme le texte.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>L\u2019illustration de cet hymne en ic\u00f4ne appara\u00eet dans le monde grec et slave au XVe si\u00e8cle. Celle du Petit Palais est de <strong>Franghias Kavertzas<\/strong>, peintre cr\u00e9tois de la premi\u00e8re partie du XVIIe si\u00e8cle. Elle est form\u00e9e de deux registres : la partie sup\u00e9rieure \u00e9voque le monde c\u00e9leste, la partie inf\u00e9rieure la race des hommes. Des vignettes lat\u00e9rales \u00e9voquent quant \u00e0 elles le r\u00e9cit de la cr\u00e9ation du monde.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Au centre, en une composition en cercle \u00e9voquant un ostensoir, si\u00e8ge en tr\u00f4ne <strong>Marie<\/strong> portant <strong>l\u2019Enfant<\/strong> sur ses genoux. La <strong>Vierge<\/strong> est entour\u00e9e d\u2019<strong>Isa\u00efe<\/strong> \u00e0 droite et de <strong>Saint Jean Damasc\u00e8ne<\/strong> \u00e0 gauche. On reconna\u00eet Adam et \u00c8ve \u00e0 droite et \u00e0 gauche de la t\u00eate de la Vierge. Autour de <strong>Marie<\/strong> se d\u00e9ploie en un deuxi\u00e8me cercle l\u2019arbre de Jess\u00e9, soit la g\u00e9n\u00e9alogie de <strong>J\u00e9sus<\/strong> et <strong>Marie<\/strong> remontant au roi <strong>David<\/strong>, fils de <strong>Jess\u00e9<\/strong>. L\u2019arbre de <strong>Jess\u00e9<\/strong> \u00e9voque le r\u00f4le de <strong>Marie<\/strong> dans l\u2019Incarnation annonc\u00e9 par les proph\u00e9ties. Cet arbre est lui-m\u00eame entour\u00e9 d\u2019une cohorte d\u2019anges. Ces anges se d\u00e9tachent sur un fond de tours et d\u2019\u00e9glises \u00e9tag\u00e9es \u00e9voquant la J\u00e9rusalem c\u00e9leste. La vo\u00fbte c\u00e9leste, d\u2019un ciel bleu-nuit \u00e9toil\u00e9, couronne cette \u00e9vocation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>La partie inf\u00e9rieure de l\u2019ic\u00f4ne est quant \u00e0 elle compos\u00e9e du peuple de Dieu, associ\u00e9 \u00e0 la vision c\u00e9leste \u00e9voqu\u00e9e dans la partie sup\u00e9rieure.
