Les deux parchemins, sur lesquels \u00e9taient \u00e9crites les d\u00e9finitions de la foi concernant la Personne du Christ, furent donc plac\u00e9s sur la poitrine de la sainte et, apr\u00e8s avoir scell\u00e9 la ch\u00e2sse, les P\u00e8res se mirent en pri\u00e8re. Au bout de huit jours, tous se rendirent au martyrium et, ouvrant la ch\u00e2sse, ils d\u00e9couvrirent avec \u00e9merveillement que la sainte \u00e9treignait dans ses bras le tome orthodoxe, comme si elle voulait le faire entrer dans son c\u0153ur, tandis que le tome des h\u00e9r\u00e9tiques gisait \u00e0 ses pieds. Devant cette d\u00e9monstration \u00e9clatante de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9, les orthodoxes rendirent gr\u00e2ces \u00e0 Dieu et les h\u00e9r\u00e9tiques, hu\u00e9s par la foule des fid\u00e8les, furent couverts de honte.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2591\" src=\"https:\/\/hesychia.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/01.940px.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"940\" height=\"528\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hesychia.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/01.940px.jpg 940w, https:\/\/hesychia.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/01.940px-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hesychia.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/01.940px-768x431.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On rapporte par ailleurs bien d\u2019autres miracles accomplis par les reliques de sainte Euph\u00e9mie. Lors d\u2019une invasion perse, les barbares, ayant envahi Chalc\u00e9doine, essay\u00e8rent de d\u00e9truire par le feu les pr\u00e9cieuses reliques. Mais elles rest\u00e8rent intactes et du sang frais s\u2019\u00e9coula par un des trous qu\u2019ils avaient pratiqu\u00e9s dans la ch\u00e2sse. Par la suite, ce miracle se renouvelait de temps en temps, procurant de nombreuses gu\u00e9risons aux fid\u00e8les qui venaient recueillir le sang de sainte Euph\u00e9mie. Mais, plus fr\u00e9quemment, son tombeau exhalait un suave parfum, en t\u00e9moignage de la faveur que la sainte avait acquise aupr\u00e8s de Dieu.<br \/>\nPour prot\u00e9ger ces pr\u00e9cieuses reliques d\u2019une nouvelle profanation, on les transf\u00e9ra \u00e0 Constantinople, o\u00f9 elles furent d\u00e9pos\u00e9es dans l\u2019\u00e9glise Sainte-Euph\u00e9mie, pr\u00e8s de l\u2019Hippodrome. Jet\u00e9es \u00e0 la mer au temps de la pers\u00e9cution de Constantin Copronyme, tandis que l\u2019\u00e9glise \u00e9tait transform\u00e9e en magasin d\u2019armement, elles \u00e9chou\u00e8rent sur le littoral de Lemnos et furent recueillies par deux p\u00eacheurs. Retrouv\u00e9es sous le r\u00e8gne de l\u2019imp\u00e9ratrice Ir\u00e8ne, on les transf\u00e9ra solennellement dans la capitale (796), o\u00f9 elles continu\u00e8rent d\u2019accomplir des miracles.
